Little Ava: A Heartfelt Call for Prayer through her final hours.

  • 2 min read

Today, we lift up Little Ava, a child in hospice care. Her family is gathered close at her bedside, keeping watch with love and prayers. (See previous post for more information)

This is an invitation to join them in prayer and to pray for a miracle through Sr. Maria Lucia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart, O.C.D.

The suffering of a child is one of the hardest mysteries the human heart can face. Pain this deep deserves reverence.

Children hold a special place in the heart of Christ. For Little Ava, that truth matters more than any explanation. She is known by God. She is loved by God. Her life, however fragile it may appear to us, is precious beyond measure.

Hope in faith does not always mean we understand. Sometimes hope means staying near the Cross and whispering, “Jesus, I trust in You".

A prayer through Sr. Maria Lucia of Fatima

As Catholics, we find strength in asking the saints and holy servants of God to pray with them and for them. Sr. Maria Lucia of Fatima, one of the three shepherd children who witnessed the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima, lived a long life marked by prayer, sacrifice, and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

In asking for her intercession, we are not replacing our prayer to God. We are asking a holy witness to join our prayer, much like we might ask a faithful friend to pray for us. We place Ava, her family, and the cause of Sr. Maria Lucia before the Lord with humility and trust.

Please pray this prayer slowly, with love:

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore you profoundly, and I thank you for the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Fatima that revealed to the world the riches of the Immaculate Heart. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I implore you, if it should be for Your greater glory and the good of our souls, to glorify Sister Lucy, one of the Shepherds of Fatima, by granting us the grace which we implore through her intercession. Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be to the Father
