Are you fighting a battle you just cannot win?
Fighting an opponent bigger than your sin?
No matter the moves you make
He is always one step ahead of your fake

Try climbing Mount Everest without any rest
This is how I feel everyday, which is more than less
After conquering one hill and thinking I’m at the top
Sadly I get to see many more waiting for my pit stop

I’ve stumbled and fell on this journey
Thinking at times to stay down on one knee
Recognizing this battle is with someone too fast and too strong
I consider giving up because this fight is taking too long

When I believe I’ve defeated my enemy
He comes back stronger and gets the best of me
And when I hope that this is the final round
Someone speaks to me and says, one more round

Not winning this fight I ask.
What’s the purpose of continuing fighting?
If I’m getting hit not once but twice by lighting?
Having no fans and nobody in my corner
Wishing I was Muhammad Ali, the former

I’m jabbing and trying to move away
Only to receive an upper cut that makes me sway
The will to continue on is quickly fading
It’s something like trying to please the girl your dating
You try your best to please her
But no matter what you do
She always screams to stop teasing her

Out of the frying pan straight into the fire
No successful ending and I’m getting tired
Then I remember one thing
Stronger is He who is within me
Than the one against me

He is more than able to defeat my opponent
Not having to raise His hand He can win in a moment
My strengths are not needed in this fight
And all I need to do is trust in His might

Giving up to His command
I go to my corner and stand
He steps into center of the ring with His hands down
My opponent, His opponent, tries his best to inflict damage
To no avail he realizes he is now being dethroned
Not by me, but by the only one worthy of a throne
The Biggest, Strongest, and Wisest Fighter of them all
Some call him, Emmanuel, Messiah, the Verb
Jesus Christ, or Cristo Jesus
Whatever you call Him
Don’t forget to call on Him
